What Is Melodeego?

Some of you already know and love Melodeego because bass player Greg Reinauer was a Plugged In teacher. For those of you who don’t know them, Melodeego is a band that truly embodies the mission of Plugged In – to empower members of the community to make positive change in their world. This is why everyone at Plugged In is so excited to have them performing at our first Fall Family Night.

If you don’t know them already, take some time to get to know Melodeego!

Melodeego has been playing music together for a long time, but found their true voice when they met some really amazing people standing up for what they believe in.

It started about four years ago when a friend asked Melodeego to perform at a rally for social justice and the environment. Melodeego had always cared about these issues but had never put them together with music. Once on stage it was easy to see how passionate everyone was. Melodeego connected with the crowd in a very real and powerful way, and their music came alive with an incredible new energy and meaning. The combination of music and message energized the crowd and became a core value of Melodeego – to play with a purpose.

After the BP oil spill, Medloeego decided they didn’t want to power their music with fossil fuels. Inventor and activist Sean Stevens designed a Bicycle Powered Sound System so Melodeego could let the people at their shows power the music. Fans got really excited to pedal the system, create clean energy with their own two feet and really become a part of the show!

The work Melodeego is doing and the creative ways that they are doing it has caught the eye of the local press. Check them out on CNN and NPR.

You can find more interviews, reviews, photos, videos and music by visiting their website or taking a look at their press kit.

So come be part of something amazing and join us for the first ever Fall Family Night featuring Melodeego!
